I didn't realize my room overlooked the children's play area without a window at booking. The coat hooks were useful, but the room wasn't made on arrival. The staff started drilling and sawing early in the morning, disrupting some peaceful moments. The buffet breakfast was a bit chaotic with food not ready on time, and a couple even let their dog foul in the restaurant area. Definitely some hits and misses here.

The room I ended up in had a view of the children's play area without a window, which wasn't what I expected. The coat hooks were handy, but the room wasn't cleaned upon my arrival. Unfortunately, the morning started with noisy drilling and sawing.

The location was beautiful with views over the loch, but it seemed a bit small for the variety of activities offered. Unfortunately, workmen blocked the driveway and walkway with their vehicles for two consecutive days, disrupting the ambiance.

The dining experience left much to be desired. The food was burnt and hard, and the traditional potato scones were dripping in oil. The lack of serving cutlery and disappointing breakfast options were major letdowns.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. On one hand, the rooms were of such a high standard, clean and comfortable, but they could do with a fan or windows that open to bring in some fresh air. The service was without exception friendly and helpful, always up for a laugh, but the dining experience left a lot to be desired with basic ingredients and a shambolic setup. The location, albeit in the middle of nowhere, offered beautiful surroundings.
